I have created a disk image of my Dell Ultrabook and am trying to create a bootable USB flash drive from which I can restore the image (someday). I purchased a 64GB SanDisk flash drive for this purpose and I have formatted it FAT32 using FAT32Format (after several unsuccessful attempts using other methods). I want to make the drive bootable and put the image on it, hence the size.

Using the Create Bootable Media tool in ATI, the flash drive is not listed in the Bootable media type selection. When I insert an 8GB SanDisk drive, it is listed as an option, but it's not big enough to hold the disk image files.

As an alternate method I created an ISO image, but I can't get it onto the flash drive. I have tried several programs, including Rufus and Win7-USB-DVD-tool, but they both say the ISO file has errors.

Any help would be appreciated.

Question, why do you wish to have the disk image on this flash drive? It is not necessary to have that image on the flash drive. Your flash drive being 64GB in size is not supported by Windows format tools as Windows size limit for FAT32 file system is 32GB. I am providing a link that may be of some help to you.

GroverH, Thanks for the info but it didn't address my question; as I made clear in my post, I had already tried everything you suggested.

Enchantech, thanks for reading my post. I think your suggestion is good. My goal was to have everything in one place (on the 64GB drive), but it won't be a problem to create a bootable 8GB flashdrive and have the image files on the 64GB drive. The Dell has two USB ports, so that will work great. As to the link you supplied, it references the program I had already used to format the flashdrive using FAT32. It worked great. Thanks much for the response.
