Romaji[edit]

Romaji of Case Closed: The Phantom of Baker Street (名探偵コナン ベイカー街(ストリート)の亡霊) is Meitantei Conan: Baker Street no Bourei. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CaseNotClosedYet (talk • contribs) 23:24, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Romajis are the pronunciation of the kanji one by one, so the one in the article is currently correct. Ou is usually ō, as seem in 'Kudō Shinichi' and 'Kaitō Kid'. ā depends on the Kanji. DragonZero (talk·contribs) 03:20, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
i know that but if you look at the first reference of ANN it stated there correctly that the romaji of 名探偵コナン ベイカー街(ストリート)の亡霊 is infact Meitantei Conan: Baker Street no Bourei not Meitantei Conan Beikā Sutorīto no Bōrei as Baker Street is a actual place in reality in london and is a english word so even in romaji it would go Baker Street rather than Beikā Sutorīto, the original pronunciation is like that only CaseNotClosedYet (talk) 03:31, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Romajis don't use English words and are only pronunciations. Also Anime News Network is highly unreliable since its user edited. DragonZero (talk·contribs) 03:58, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
so why is it placed as a reference? and i already said that the romaji are pronunciations and pronunciation of Baker Street is not Beikā Sutorīto, it would look like we are talking about Beika City which is actually named after Baker City and what i think is if wikipedia has a reference added to a article then the sentence should say the same thing as reference or it should be removed and a more reliable reference should be added with the sentence should should go by it,so it is either that we remove ANN from references or we go by it. CaseNotClosedYet (talk) 07:08, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
'Baker Street' isn't romaji; if it was, Japanese would be basically English. I have no idea why Beikā Sutorīto would make it look like Beika City, if you try to read Beikā Sutorīto aloud, you will find that it is similar to the English 'Baker Street' (su-tor-ri-to). Also, instead of taking the reference down or go with it, how about adding the correct romaji to ANN instead? Raychut (talk) 10:38, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
k,that can be done Raychut, can u do that? CaseNotClosedYet (talk) 17:51, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
also what i meant was if a person sees the romaji who is familiar but not much can confuse Baker Street of london which is a real place to the fictional city of japan Beikā City which is infact named after Baker Street and even though Japanese people pronounce it as Beikā Sutorīto, its real pronunciation is Baker Street and you can pronounce a thing totally different in another language but the pronunciation of a name of person, place and etc. eg:Conan From Meitantei Conan (whose actual Romaji would be Meitantei Konan but is written Meitantei Conan) and Conan name from english Detective Conan is the same,so you see name of places and person would always be same in any language.i watched a bit of the movie again and noticed that most peoples like ayumi(amy) pronuounce it Beikā Sutorīto but conan and professor agasa pronounce it Baker Streett it doesnt matter as long as the reference says the same and i also see that u have added Meitantei Conan Beikā Sutorīto no Bōrei to ANN but the source there says -From the the poster. The original 'Baker Street' isn't romaji- which is not correct as romaji is not written on the poster but i think it cant be helped. It should work but someone needs to delete the 2nd romaji from ANN somehow as ANN is showsing two romaji for the movie CaseNotClosedYet (talk) 19:19, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
No one's gonna make that mistake. Anyways we have a guide line we have to follow when editing and your is against. Anime News Network Encyclopedic section is not a valid argument. DragonZero (talk·contribs) 20:51, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
If u read correctly i just said that Names of people and places are always same(as i already given the example) in all language and it doesnt matter as long as the reference says the same thing as the article which Raychut already fixed and to that i asked to remove the 2nd romaji(Baker Street no Bourei) from ANN so that no confusions are to be made by others as which romiji is correct. And for the guide line you are talking about i am following it correct and that is why am discussing this matter to sort this out. Its not like i am here for the first time it maybe be that this account is new but its because i lost my credentials of my previous account which i used a long time ago, i still remember the things necessary to know before editing. Dont misunderstand me, any raychut i see that u have reported error for the 2nd romaji, thanx for that :) CaseNotClosedYet (talk) 21:53, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
